You can store most household, business, and sporting items in one of our secure storage units. Some of our larger drive-up units can store vehicles, trailers and small boats or caravans. We offer a wide range of different size units to cater for all types of storage needs.

There are a few things that are not allowed to be stored in your storage unit at Jim’s Self Storage. You must not store hazardous, dangerous, illegal, stolen, flammable, perishable, environmentally harmful or explosive goods. This includes things like gas battles, batteries (especially Lithium Ion), food, plants etc. Make sure everything is clean (especially that your fridge and freezer has been emptied of all food and cleaned thoroughly) and ensure nothing is damp before moving it into your storage unit. If you are unsure if a particular item can be stored or not, contact one of our team members who can help you.

Not all storage facilities have the same security measures in place. Here at Jim’s Self Storage, security is a top priority for us and our customers. Our facility is equipped with 24/7 security measures to keep your belongings safe. This includes personalised PIN code access, individually alarmed units, automatic lighting, and around-the-clock CCTV surveillance. We also have a resident onsite manager and 24-hour computerised back-to-base security monitoring—365 days a year. Your peace of mind is our priority.

The only people who can access your storage unit are people you give access to. You have a pin code which opens the gate and turns off the alarm on your specific storage unit. Your storage unit also has a padlock on it, either with a key or combination access. Anyone you give the pin code and key/combination to, can access your storage unit. Staff don’t keep keys to any unit, so you have full control. We can even set up an additional pin codes for additional users, great for businesses who have different staff accessing the unit.

Yes! Our fully stocked Box Shop has everything you need for moving, packing, or organising. Whether you’re storing with us or not, we’ve got you covered.  From boxes, butchers paper and bubble wrap, to specialty boxes, mattress covers and more. Our staff can offer suggestions and have some amazing packing tips to make your life that little bit easier.

Yes, but it’s just one month! At Jim’s Self Storage, flexibility is key. You can store with us for a single month or stay for as long as you need. Our month-to-month agreements mean no long-term commitments, just storage that works on your terms. And unlike other storage facilities, we only require 7 days notice when you’re ready to move out! Whether it’s short-term or long-term, we’ve got you covered!

Jim’s Self Storage offers their customers goods protection through StoreProtect. A goods protection policy designed especially for the self storage industry. It is highly recommended that you take StoreProtect while storing at Jim’s Self Storage. Your goods are not covered by our own insurance and is your responsibility to protect.  Even though security is a high priority, unpredictable events and disasters such as fires and floods are something out of our control. StoreProtect offers additional peace of mind and means you won’t be left with nothing in the unlikely event of an incident. Ideally, booking 1-2 weeks ahead of your move in date is ideal. However, if you need storage in a hurry and we have a size available to suit you, then you can move in right away.

Unlike other storage facilities, Jim’s Self Storage only requires 7 days notice when vacating. With only 1 month being the minimum, you can give your 7 days notice to finish when your first month ends. Or you can continue to store until you no longer require storage anymore. The best part, we only charge for the time you use! So need an additional week into the next month, then you only pay for the week and not the entire month.

You can access your storage unit at anytime during your access hours, no appointment necessary. Our facility has 3 different access areas with different access times. Some of our units offer 24/7 access, whilst others have access from 8am-5pm or 6am-pm 7 days a week.
No customer access is available on Good Friday or Christmas Day, however all other public holidays have usual access hours. If you require specific access hours, speak to one of our team who can make sure your unit suits the access times you require.
